The current signature of Black Sheep Productions that you see today finds its origin here: asymmetric form finded roofs in high-tech PVC, combined with artisan stitched canvas and tough rough wooden trunks that act as masts. The rigging is done as much as possible using wooden blocks and hemp ropes that you can also find in the old sailing dinghies and boats. All tensile structures developed by Black Sheep Productions have been tested by engineers and meet today’s standards in terms of safety, wind load, fire resistance and durability.
Recuperating the expertise of the artisans of the past is also a form of sustainability. Black Sheep Productions notice that the use of these old techniques is greatly appreciated. We see that the people in our tents touch, feel, experience the artisanal parts… Isn’t that great? Off course we want to preserve a number of specific old techniques, but must admit that we also do it mainly because we think it’s stunning.
